Elaborate on the influence of the colonization in the Muslim education system. Read chapter 1 of the Islamization of knowledge by Al Atas as attached in week 3 ( 5marks)

The colonization had cause major influence in the Muslim education. The secularist educational system had been introduced. Islamic education remains a private affair and limited.

In the name of modernization and progress, there is a high demand for secularist education. The Islamic education in the university remains unchanged because of conservatism.

National independence also gives the opportunity for the secularist education to flourish. Public fund continues to fund the secularist education because of racist nationalism and regional patriotism. The westernization and secularization of teachers and students become worse after the colonization.
